My name is James and I am the owner, operator, creative and general dogsbody behind Studio 210, which I use for all of my freelancing projects. My passion is digital marketing; more specifically beautiful design partnered with structured information-architecture resulting in captivating user experiences. Sound interesting? Want to know more?
STUDIO 210 – WHAT’S THE STORY?
As of the time I wrote this, I have spent 18 years, 10 months and 23 days in digital design and marketing in both Canada and the UK. I love great design in all things: photography, architecture, automotive design; but especially digital marketing. In the world of digital marketing there are endless possibilities for developing world-class, award-winning user experiences. I believe that design does not need to be over-complicated, but it does need a great deal of attention with a solid concept. This is what I love to do and hopefully I can do it for you!
My Story In 200 Words Or Less
After leaving college with a graphic design diploma and post-grad in multimedia, I set off for Toronto as a Computer Based Training Designer/Developer. After a year, I moved onto another position in Toronto (great city by the way) again with a CBT business but this time focused on design. Another great position where I learnt so much but unfortunately it didn’t last as the company decided to consolidate offices…and I wasn’t sat in the one that won the debate. I then took some time out to teach English in Taiwan; because that’s just what you do.
After 6 months, I decided to make my way to Coventry, England, where I was born. Here I joined Massey Ferguson where I planned on staying for 3-4 years… I stayed a little longer than expected. In the sixteen years at Massey Ferguson my career went from strength-to-strength. I gained a university degree in Multimedia & Technology and became Manager, Digital Marketing & Creative Services. After many great years I left the company, threw a leaving party and emigrated back to Canada for new horizons.
Like many creatives before me, I made the decision to set up my own business and go freelance. Now, I am writing this as a sole trader, digital design and marketing professional with a view to working with you on your next project.
I think you can see that I love top-class design with effective marketing behind it. I have been fortunate over the years to work with many great people in leading agencies and companies. I have learnt a great deal from many people involved in countless projects.
I am always looking forward to the next digital adventure to use my knowledge and eye for design to make world-class online experiences.

Previous to starting Studio 210, I have been hard at work on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean pursuing new roles, embracing new challenges and working with all kinds of fantastic people. I led a team of 11 highly creative and dedicated individuals including Digital Marketing, Audio Visual and Publications. Through strategic leadership and campaign planning, I ensured the marketing platform was in line with our sales and brand objectives while ensuring projects were delivered on time and within my annual 1.3 Million budget (GBP). I represented Massey Ferguson with global enterprise digitalization projects such as SalesForce CRM and Marketing Automation, Adobe EM and Assets.
